Ron King Fashion Show features Spring '11 Collection by Thuy

Austin certainly does not have a shortage of fashion events and just when you think the holiday season will slow things down, bam!…there’s one last one…but this one was well worth the wait.
This show was more of a launch party for hair stylist Ron King’s new self named salon that opened back in August and located on the stylish corner of the Four Seasons Hotel and residence property.
While the Fashionably Austin photographers were getting camera ready at the end of the runway, show producer Melissa d’Atillio of Fly Productions did the model run thru and then it would soon be lights up, music and show time!
Ron King addressed the crowd and expressed that the event was more than just a fashion show. Ron awarded a cosmetology student, Briana Flores, with a scholarship provided by Youth Works.
The first fashion show featured a L’Oreal hair fashion show. The models wore nude body suits and strutted down the catwalk with hair sculptured in ways you never thought was possible.
Fashion designer Thuy (pronoucned “twee”) Diep’s made a special Austin appearance and gave the Austin audience a taste of her Spring 2011 collection. The line was a mix of casual chic with understated “romantic sophistication.” There was also a burst of sparkle seen on many of the pieces embellished with brightly colored large disk sequins. Each model also donned strappy high heels with a dazzling clutch in hand. Kahki, orange, blue, and floral motifs were also sent down the runway…colors and prints you won’t want to be without for the upcoming season.
After the show the celebration continued with a post party at the new Ron King Salon and then the party moved to a beautifully decorated space in the residences accessorized with Andy Warhol art.
You may be in for more upscale fashion productions as Ron is committed to bringing more named fashion designers to Austin. To find out more about Ron’s salons, click here.
